Black Sands, the musical project of songwriter and producer Andrew Balfour, continues to showcase their musical brilliance with the new single \u201cRock Me.\u201d This country-pop track highlights the joys of being young, chasing thrills and highs, all while still pursuing the search for that one true connection.\u00a0\u201cRock Me\u201d is now available to stream and download on digital music platforms worldwide<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cRock Me\u201d is a cinematic portrait of youth\u2014messy, thrilling, and relatable. One moment it\u2019s reckless and wild, the next it\u2019s raw and vulnerable. The song captures what it feels like to be alive, stumbling, spinning, kissing like you mean it, and not caring if tomorrow ever comes. Produced, composed, and written by the group\u2019s leader, Andrew Balfour, \u201cRock Me\u201d is the second single from Black Sands\u2019 upcoming record. Balfour co-wrote the song with\u00a0Ryan Lawrie<\/a>\u00a0(BTS, TxT, Enhyphen), who also contributed vocals, while Brandon Chase took over on lead vocals. The track was brought to fruition with co-production, mixing, and mastering by\u00a0Davide Russo<\/a>\u00a0(The Chainsmokers, Marshmello). \u201c\u2018Rock Me\u2019 is one of those rare songs that seemed to arrive fully formed,\u201d says Balfour. \u201cFrom the first guitar chord to the steady, driving kick drum, the track came together with a raw energy and sense of urgency. Where some songs take painstaking effort to craft note by note, \u2018Rock Me\u2019 poured out effortlessly, every chord change, every lead, every layer landing exactly where it needed to.\u201d This is more than just another single; it\u2019s another step into a new era for Black Sands, a reintroduction to the emotional core of their songwriting, rooted in Americana storytelling. Compared to the previous single \u201cMaking Memories,\u201d \u201cRock Me\u201d is a little louder, more reckless, a party song with a passionate undercurrent. The lyrics flirt with darkness, \u201cToo much Bacardi\u2019s got me stumbling, bad luck every time. And I\u2019m just out here for somebody who can keep up with the high. I\u2019m my own enemy, but I don\u2019t want to talk like I\u2019m in therapy. I want someone to take me back to 17 and be wild for the night.\u201d It\u2019s high and low all at once, like a smile that knows it\u2019s covering something deeper. Los Angeles-based songwriter and producer Andrew Balfour is the creator and mastermind behind Black Sands, although the project is just as much Balfour\u2019s as it is the many collaborators who help bring its songs to life. \u201cI wanted to give people space to try things they hadn\u2019t done before.
