The Country Radio Broadcasters (CRB) announce the opening of the application period for the Lisa McKay Women in Radio Scholarship program. Three promising female radio programmers will be awarded scholarship packages that include complimentary registration, hotel accommodation and airfare to attend CRS 2024, scheduled for February 28 to March 1, 2024. The recipients will also be acknowledged at CRS 2024.
Interested candidates are required to fill out an online application here and submit an essay, not exceeding 500 words, detailing why they deserve to be considered for this unique opportunity. The deadline for submission is end-of-day on October 2.
CRB Executive Director RJ Curtis commented, “We are honored to continue this empowering scholarship program for 2024. The program not only pays tribute to Lisa McKay’s legacy but also provides emerging female talents in radio with a platform to elevate their careers through education, networking, and discovery at CRS.”
The program is designed to honor the late Lisa McKay, a 2018 Country Radio Hall of Fame inductee, known for her mentorship of young female talent in the radio industry during her illustrious 16-year career at WQDR/Raleigh.
Eligible candidates must be either a female College Senior majoring in broadcast communications with an involvement in radio programming or a female with one to three years of experience in the radio business as a Program Director, Assistant Program Director, or Music Director. Additionally, the candidate must be a first-time CRS attendee.
Country Radio Seminar will take place at the Omni Nashville Hotel. Registration for the event is now open.
